Irmela Zentner is an expert research engineer at EDF R&D Lab Paris-Saclay with a focus on various topics related to probabilistic seismic risk assessment.

She holds a diploma in civil engineering from RWT Aachen and a master 2 degree from Ecole Centrale Paris in Structural Dynamics and Interactions. After a short mission in engineering consulting office, she completed a PhD at the French Aerospace Lab (ONERA) in the area of aeroelasticity and stochastic dynamics.

In the recent years her work has focused on the development and implementation of numerical methods for the evaluation of fragility curves, SSI including spatial variability and the selection and simulation of ground motion time histories.

She is currently coordinator of the H2020 funded project EURATOM METIS (https://metis-h2020.eu/) and has been involved in several national and international research projects such as the recent SIGMA-2 and ANR EXAMIN. She is member of IMSIA laboratory and SEISM institute Paris-Saclay.
